The 4 Best DFS Plays For Week 9:
Credit Football Analysis

NFL Week 9 is here and there are several interesting matchups this week. With it being week 9 that unfortunately means the season is nearly halfway over. But there is still a lot of football to be played and the best is certainly yet to come. I don’t think anyone would have thought that the Broncos and Ravens would have the same record entering week 9, or that the the Commanders would be 6-2 with a very good chance of improving to 7-2 with a win over the Giants, but here we are. There are a lot of matchups where a team’s strength is playing against the opposing teams weakness. And those are plays we usually try and target to our advantage. And we are diving into the 4 best DFS plays for week 9. I hope you enjoy!

Bo Nix

The first play is Bo Nix higher than 242.5 passing plus rushing yards. Bo Nix is having a really good rookie season and believe it or not – he has cleared higher than 242.5 passing plus rushing yards in two of his past three games. The Ravens passing defense isn’t very good and they allowed over 330 yards and three passing touchdowns to Jameis Winston in week eight. The Ravens passing defense is also dead last in yards allowed in 2024, and they are 31st in passing attempts against. Meaning teams know they are going to be able to throw the football against the Ravens defense and that’s exactly what opposing teams have done to them throughout the first eight games. The Ravens have allowed four 300 yard passes in the first eight games and remember – all Bo Nix has to do is go for higher than 242.5 passing plus rushing yards. Bo Nix has been a really good dual threat to start the year and has ran for 25 or more yards in five of the eight games he’s played. When you factor in the Ravens passing defense and Bo Nix’s dual thread ability- these are all reasons as to why I like higher than 242.5 passing yards.

Malik Nabers

Malik Nabers higher than 69.5 receiving yards is the next play and this is another one I like. Nabers is well on his way to being one of the best receivers in the league, and out of the six games he’s played so far – he has had 66 or more yards in five of six games. Nabers is playing against a team that does not have a very good secondary in the Washington Commanders. The reality is is Malik is by far the best receiver in the Giants offense, and Nabers will undoubtedly continue to receive targets. That’s a big part of taking a players receiving yards – is knowing he’s going to get the opportunity. Nabers has four games (out of 6 total) where he has 12 or more targets, and I expect that to continue because of how good of a player he is. I wouldn’t be surprised if Nabers goes for his third 100 yard game of the season. Malik Nabers higher than 69.5 receiving yards is the play.

DJ Moore

DJ Moore higher than 59.5 receiving yards is the third play and this is a play that I like for a few reasons. DJ has unfortunately been cold recently and believe it or not – he has 30 or less receiving yards in three out of his last four games. DJ is a very very good player and is going up against a secondary in the Arizona Cardinals who have allowed the 26th most passing yards in 2024. The Cardinals do not have a good pass rush, their corners aren’t very good, and this defense as a whole isn’t good. DJ has one 100 yard game in 2024, which was over the Carolina Panthers back in week five and they too do not have a good defense. DJ’s targets haven’t been where he would like them to be and I think that gets back on track in week nine and for this reason we like DJ Moore higher than 59.5 receiving yards.

Joe Flacco

Joe Flacco higher than 249.5 passing yards is the final play. Flacco is going up against the Vikings defense and I know the initial thought may be well if he’s going up against a good defense – why would we go higher for his passing yards? And the reason is – the Vikings defense is 30th in passing yards allowed in 2024. Despite allowing as many passing yards as they do – they are 18th in total yards allowed and it’s because their run defense has been great in 2024. They are top 3 in rushing attempts against, rushing yards allowed, rushing touchdowns allowed, and yards per carry against. Teams would rather try and throw the football against the Vikings and for good reason. Their corners aren’t very good, their pass rush outside of Jonathan Greenard isn’t very good, and they’ve allowed 250 or more yards passing in 5 of their last 6 games. Flacco has proven he can sit back and pick a defense a part and out of all 4 plays – I think I like Joe Flacco higher than 249.5 passing yards the most. This is an alternate line to pay a little more, so if you want the normal line – then feel free to go with 241.5 passing yards. Regardless, I like Flacco a lot in week 9 – and I think he will have a good game against the Vikings defense.
