Part two of this weekend is here! The playoffs are officially in full effect, and we’re slated for three more big games this Sunday. Let’s take a look at the four best plays for this Sunday.
Saquon Barkley – Over 17.1 Fantasy Points
Essentially take everything I wrote about Derrick Henry on Saturday and apply it here. Saquon’s a monster, a near-record-breaker, an absolute backwards-hurdling beast on the field. With an average of 22.2 fantasy points a week, he’s cleared this line 10 times in his 16 games played. On top of that, the Eagles are 1st in rushing attempts, 2nd in rushing yards, and second in rushing TDs. Is the game plan as simple as give Saquon the rock and let him do what he does best? It, honestly, might be. When Philly and Green Bay played in week one, Saquon went off for 33.2 points, a performance we hope to see a follow up on this Sunday.
Saquon Barkley over 17.1 fantasy points is the first play for wild card Sunday.
James Cook – Over 49.5 Rushing Yards
If there’s one thing we love to see when making these plays, it’s a reliable guy like James Cook. With an impressive 4.9 yards per carry, Cook is exactly that, reliable. We’ve also seen him go for 16 rushing TDs this season on an average of 63 rushing yards a game. All of this to say, James Cook is a guy we should be able to lean on this weekend against the Broncos. The Broncos rushing defense is generally pretty tough, being 3rd in the NFL in most important run-defense stats. However, I think when you going against a dual-threat beast like Josh Allen, you’re going to be focusing most of your resources on containing him rather than constantly stacking the box against James Cook. This isn’t just a theory, it’s proven. When facing dual-threat QBs (teams like the Ravens, Chiefs, Colts), they give up an average of 107.5 rushing yards. I think this is the key to James Cook getting carries and yards in this matchup.
James Cook over 49.5 rushing yards is the next play for this weekend’s playoff matchup between the Broncos and Bills.
Terry McLaurin – Over 59.5 Receiving Yards
Scary Terry is seriously enjoying having Jayden Daniels throwing to him. His career highest catch-rate, touchdowns, and first downs, Terry has shown what we’ve known since he’s had a shaky QB room, that he’s a great receiver. He’s cleared this line in 10 of his 17 games, and against a Tampa Bay secondary who’s 29th in passing yards allowed, we can expect to see him do it again. With an average of 13.4 yards per reception and 4.8 receptions a game, this should make it easy for Terry to clear this line this weekend.
Terry McLaurin over 59.5 receiving yards is the next play this wild card weekend.
Baker Mayfield – Over 20.1 Fantasy Points
One of the biggest comeback stories of the past few years, Baker Mayfield has been proving that he’s much more than just an “average” QB. Coming off a four week stretch where he’s cleared this line, he’s also done it in 10 of his 17 games this season. He also throws for an average of 2.5 TDs a game, which is a great stat when we’re looking for fantasy points. With the Commanders being 15th in the league in passing TDs against, he should be able to put up at least two against them. Not to mention that the last time they played, he hung 4 TDs and 29.6 fantasy points on the Commanders (and this was on week one mind you). Baker should continue to prove himself here in the playoffs.
Baker Mayfield over 20.1 fantasy points is the final play for wild card Sunday.
