With the 2025 NFL draft coming to a close we can see the Regular season on the horizon. As we approach that magical time in September we assess who seems to have gotten the most value in the draft. This class of young prospects is looking to join the ranks of the top dawgs in the league. The Baltimore Ravens have been a contending team for the past few seasons getting painstakingly close to a Super Bowl appearance. Given how volatile this class of rookies is, it may be just enough juice to get the ravens into that Super Bowl spot this year. In today’s article we’re going to take a look at the key players that the Baltimore Ravens picked this year in the 2025 draft..

With the number 27 pick the Baltimore Ravens chose Malakai Starks, a Safety out of Georgia. Malakai Starks is a phenomenal safety prospect, he ran a 4.35 in the combine and thrives in both zone and man coverage. Overall he is a very strong prospect, though some of the more speedy receivers may outrun him. Many analysts expected Starks to be a top ten pick and though he wasn’t a top ten he’s certainly a round 1 lock. Ravens fans were elated when he fell to them and they announced his name. The Ravens are known for allowing players to fall where they may and taking the “pick players and ask questions later” approach and it works out for them historically. It’s impossible to not mention Kyle Hamilton when talking about this pick seeing as it was an almost identical situation. Hamilton just like Starks was also a top 10 round 1 graded talent. He fell right to them in the 2022 draft with the 14th pick. The combo of Hamilton and Starks may prove to be a very deadly backfield for the Ravens in 2025, alongside the next pick the Ravens defense may be getting a huge upgrade at Defense.

Next up on our list is Mike Green, a prospect out of Marshall College. The Ravens selected Green in the second round with the 59th pick. Green had a spectacular senior season leading the FBS in sacks (17)  and coming in second with tackles for a loss (22). He has a knack for getting into the backfield and disrupting the play. Green may prove to be a threat in the Baltimore trenches. The Ravens ranked 2nd in sacks last season despite having a slower than average pass rush. Green will simply add more depth and more juice to a defensive line that is formidable yet aging fast. It’s worth noting that setting Green’s skill aside there have been some questions about his character. Things brought up from his past that caused him to slide so far in the draft. By no means am I the right person to speak on these things, but it was clear that many teams considered this when making their picks. These things may prove to be an issue for Baltimore but only time will tell. Regardless this pick looks to be a good one and will strengthen their Defensive line.

Moving on to the 3rd Round the Baltimore Ravens selected Emery Jones Jr, Offensive lineman from LSU. With the 91st pick the Ravens chose this 6’6 and 315 pound beast who specializes in run blocking. Last year the Ravens traded with the Titans for the one and only Derrick Henry. They quickly rose to be the first ranked offense in the league. Not to mention their star Quarterback Lamar Jackson. The Ravens have historically been really good at drafting Offensive Linemen. With names like Ben Clevland, Tyler Linderbaum, and Roger Rosengarten. Emery Jones Jr hopes to compete for a starting job protecting the league’s best offense. Offensive line is a very injury prone position sadly however Emery Jones Jr played 2,323 of his 2,355 snaps last year in college. At the least the Ravens may have found a great depth player for an inevitably banged up position.

Last but not least in the 4th round the Baltimore Ravens picked up Teddye Buchanan, an Inside Linebacker from California. Clocking in at the league average for linebackers at 6 ‘2 and 235 pounds. Buchanan has a high motor as he loves to get to the Quarterback in pass rush, however his best trait is that of a run stuffer. Given this versatility if he’s able to develop at the position then he could prove to be an animal. The Ravens also lost Malik Harrison and Chris Board at that position in Free agency so hopefully Buchanan proves to be worth the pick.

The Baltimore Ravens were a threat around the league last year making it to the Playoffs, but while they thrived in some areas they lacked in others. Hopefully these prospects are able to plug up some of those holes and provide the city of Baltimore with yet another Super Bowl Ring.
