After losing star running back Saquon Barkley in the 2024 offseason to division rivals Philadelphia Eagles, the Giants had found a major hole in their offense. Their once offensive weapon was now, someone else’s offensive weapon. Many blamed Giants’ management for not being able to secure a deal, but you couldn’t blame Barkley for leaving due to the history of short-comings. Once the season had begun, there was no spark and the offense looked helpless. Long time Giants quarterback Daniel Jones (now with Indianapolis Colts), was eventually released by the Giants after struggling early in the season. The Giants’ struggle became worse by juggling different quarterbacks. They ended their 2024-2025 season with a 3-14 record, but had some bright spots. However, with a very promising 2025 draft, the New York Giants have good things to look for ahead including both old and new players in the organization.
JAXSON DART (FUTURE QB)

Jaxson Dart is still very young, turning 22 on May 13th. Dart was selected 25th overall by the Giants in a surprise trade move, where the 25th overall pick was acquired from the Houston Texans. Dart began his college football journey at the University of Southern California as a trojan. Dart reportedly left USC due to the coaching staff changing and his starter role in jeopardy with the arrival of quarterback Caleb Williams (now QB for Chicago Bears). Jaxson Dart wanted to maximize his potential as a quarterback and wanted to stand out in a competitive conference.
So Dart transferred to University of Mississippi ahead of his sophomore season. His first season as an Ole Miss Rebel was a solid performance; nothing was eye-opening though. In his second half of his college career, he showed significant improvement. He had a highly successful second half, had many recognitions and broke many records. His senior stats signified him as a top 3 quarterback in the draft.
Jaxson Dart (Ole Miss 2024-2025) Stats:
4279 Passing Yards
29 Passing Touchdowns
6 Interceptions
69.3% Completion Percentage
86.3 QBR
10-3 Record (5-3 in SEC conference games)
Gator Bowl Champions (vs. Duke University)
Many analysts had picked Jaxson Dart as a first round pick or an early second day draft pick. Jaxson’s youth had him viewed as a development project due to some of his immaturity on the field. Analysts say that Dart struggles with decision-making when under pressure or the initial read is unavailable. Despite his youth and hesitant and sometimes face-paced decision-making, Dart’s strengths include his strong arm, leadership qualities, and his dual-threat ability. He looks to bring these talents to New York and improve on his defects. His mentors will be Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston.
MALIK NABERS (WR)

“With the 6th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the New York Giants select, Mailk Nabers, wide receiver, LSU.” (Roger Goodell, Commissioner of the NFL). The Giants drafted Nabers with their first round pick due to a need of a top-tier receiver and to help bring an offensive weapon to reignite Daniel Jones’s career. Despite Nabers having multiple quarterbacks throughout the 2024-2025 season, Nabers put up a pretty decent statline during the previous season.
Malik Nabers (NYG 2024-2025) Stats:
1204 Receiving Yards
109 Receptions
11 Yards Per Reception
5th in 2024-2025 Offensive Rookie of the Year
Nabers showcased his speed and athleticism, his ability to haul in contested catches, his route running, slot reliability, ability to obtain more yards after catch, and is a very reliable target. His only minor con would be consistency would be his inconsistency in “winning the ball” through contact. With a more stable group of quarterbacks, Nabers looks to bring a spark to the new New York Giants offense.
RUSSELL WILSON/JAMEIS WINSTON (QB1/QB2)

Russell Wilson was signed by the Giants out of the free agency market this season, in hopes of a decent veteran quarterback. Some claim Wilson to be “washed” and others say he just needs the right environment around him. Wilson last season spent his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He came off an injury after the first 6 games and put up decent stats.
Russell Wilson (PIT 2024-2025) Stats:
2482 Passing Yards
16 Passing Touchdowns
5 Interceptions
63.7% Completion Percentage
95.6 QBR
6-5 Regular Season Record (11 games played)
0-1 Postseason Record (Loss in WildCard Round to Baltimore Ravens)
2nd in AFC North
Russell Wilson is highly experienced and known for his deep shots, veteran decision-making, and leadership qualities. However, due to his age being a factor, his ability to make effective throws and mobility have come at cost. His playstyle and veteran status should help develop a young quarterback like Jaxson Dart.
Currently the back up for Russell Wilson, would be Jameis Winston. Jaxson Dart is in particular excited to train with Jameis Winston, stating he is a very hard worker and disciplined. Winston has a strong arm, athleticism, but struggles with decision-making at times, committing turnovers. One of the issues would be his frequent interceptions. He can be seen as another great teacher and workout partner to Jaxson Dart.
RUN-GAME

The new run game for the Giants is set to be very special. With a fast and explosive Tyrone Tracy Jr. likely to be the RB1 for the Giants. Not only is he a great rusher, but is also strong on the receiving end. His versatility is due to his athleticism, burst, and speed. He would be very dangerous when running on the edge of the field such as the infamous “HB stretch.”
Tyrone Tracy Jr. (NYG 2024-2025) Stats:
839 Rushing Yards
5 Rushing Touchdowns
192 Rushing Attempts
4.4 Rushing Yards Per Attempt
49.4 Rushing Yards Per Game

Selected in the 4th round of the NFL Draft this year was college football phenom Cam Skattebo. Skattebo lacks speed at times, but is extremely powerful, racks up yards after contact, has a hard-hitting running style, strong, good pass protector, and a great pass catcher. Skattebo is also a very versatile player. Skattebo was an absolute unit as an Arizona State University Sun Devil.
Cameron Skattebo (ASU 2024-2025) Stats:
1711 Rushing Yards
21 Rushing Touchdowns
293 Rushing Attempts
5.8 Rushing Yards Per Attempt
131.6 Rushing Yards Per Game
The duo of Skattebo and Tracy will definitely be something to look forward to next season. They could potentially replace the already strong Detroit Lions running back duo of Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery, titled “Sonic and Knuckles;” Tracy being the new Sonic and Skattebo being the Knuckles in this new running back duo.
DEFENSE

The New York Giants defense looks to terrorize the NFC East and the rest of the NFL during the next season. With DT Dexter Lawrence leading the charge and 2025 3rd overall pick EDGE Abdul Carter coming in from one side. Other key defensive lineman include Darius Alexander, Chauncey Golston, Roy Robertson Harris, and Jeremiah Ledbetter. Let’s not forget about the secondary, with most of the guys under the age of 25 and full of raw talent. From blitzing to man+zone coverage, this defense can do it all.
