The NFL Schedule was released to the public on May 14th. Many people have offered their immediate opinions and predictions, but immediate -or impulse- opinions can often lead to regrettable decisions and lackluster analysis. Because of this we chose to sit back and let the schedule simmer for a moment, which also provided the ability to dive deeper into each matchup.
The Jaguars enter the 2025 season off the heels of a highly disappointing 4-13 season. That disastrous season led to the largest front office and coaching turnover in Jaguars history. A new era has been ushered in by Owner Shad Khan. The excitement and “vibes” around the facility -and the team itself- are as high as I have ever seen them. But this energy and excitement has remained somewhat contained to the Jacksonville area. Many mainstream media outlets continue to sleep on and doubt this Jaguars team. Asking questions like:
“What will this new era of Jaguars football look like?”
“What can we expect from Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars this year?”
“Can this regime offer the team and fanbase immediate results?”
All these questions and more, will be answered throughout this game-by-game schedule overview and record prediction piece.
Lets dive in!

Week 1 – Sun, Sep 7 – 1:00 PM EDT: Jacksonville Jaguars
vs Carolina Panthers

The Jaguars kick off the 2025 season with a matchup against the Carolina Panthers. The Liam Coen and James Gladstone era of Jaguars football, has a prime opportunity to get off to a fast start. Both teams disappointed last year but on paper, the Jaguars appear like the better team. I expect the duo of Brian Thomas Jr. and Travis Hunter to be too much for the Panthers defensive backs as the overhauled Jaguars passing game gets off to a hot start leading the Jaguars to a week 1 win.
Prediction: Jaguars Win
Record: 1-0
Week 2 – Sun, Sep 14: 1:00 PM EDT Jacksonville Jaguars
@ Cincinnati Bengals

The Jaguars travel to Cincy in week 2 to face the Bengals. The Bengals have historically been slow starters often being underwhelming until midseason. The Bengals defense was one of the worst last year and they did not make many major moves to overhaul that unit. The Jaguars offense should be set up for a big day and if the defense holds up, I believe the Jaguars could capitalize on the Bengals tendency to start slow and pull off the upset win here.
Predictions: Jaguars Win
Record: 2-0
Week 3 – Sun, Sep 21: 1:00 PM EDT Jacksonville Jaguars
vs Houston Texans

Week 3 presents the first, of two, showdowns with last year’s division champion Texans. The Texans swept the Jaguars last year. But both meetings were extremely close, with the Texans having a point differential total of just 7. They say talent keeps you in games and coaching wins you games. The Jaguars talent kept them in both games last year, and the coaching upgrades could win them games like these this year. If the Jaguars plan on winning the AFC South then this matchup at home is won they likely will need to win, and I think they get it done.
Prediction: Jaguars Win
Record: 3-0
Week 4 – Sun, Sep 28: 4:05 PM EDT Jacksonville Jaguars
@ San Francisco 49ers

Following a stretch of tough wins I expect the Jaguars to drop this one. The Jaguars travel to Santa Clara to face off with a 49er team that they have not beat since 2005. The 49ers are coming off a down year plagued by injuries but, assuming healthy, I think the 49ers bounce back in a big way this year. This new look Jaguars team should be in every game they play, but I think they drop this one to the more experienced 49ers team.
Prediction: Jaguars Loss
Record: 3-1
Week 5 – Mon, Oct 6: 8:15 PM EDT Jacksonville Jaguars
vs Kansas City Chiefs

The Jaguars string of tough matchups continues, as next on the docket is a matchup with the super bowl runner-up Chiefs. This is a rare home primetime game for the Jaguars and this one should offer plenty of fireworks. Back-to-back tough early season tests for the Jaguars, but I once again think they drop a close one here as the experience of the Chiefs help them win a close one over the up and coming Jaguars.
Prediction: Jaguars Loss
Record: 3-2
Week 6 – Sun, Oct 12: 1:00 PM EDT Jacksonville Jaguars
vs Seattle Seahawks

Next on the schedule, a home matchup with the Seahawks. Coming off the heels of two straight losses the Jaguars are faced with a pivotal early season “get-right game.” The NFL is an incredibly long season and managing both the ebbs and flows and different runs during the year, is key to long term success. I think the Jaguars rebound in a big way and prove they are a real threat in the form of a big win vs a good Seahawk team.
Prediction: Jaguars Win
Record: 4-2
Week 7 – Sun, Oct 19: 9:30 AM EDT Jacksonville Jaguars
vs Los Angeles Rams

The Jaguars return to London to face off with the Rams. This Rams team is no joke and to many is a serious super bowl contender. This matchup with the Rams provides Liam Coen and James Gladstone their first opportunity to face off with their former team. I think the Jaguars keep it close, but at the end of the day the teacher -Sean McVay and the Rams- get the best of the students -Liam Coen and the Jaguars.
Prediction: Jaguars Loss
Record: 4-3
Week 8 – Bye Week

After a tough early stretch of games and a long trip to London, the Jaguars head home and get a much needed break over the bye week. The bye week falls in a nice spot this year for the Jaguars, creating a somewhat even split of games before and after the bye. Many of the Jaguars toughest matchups are behind them, which puts the team in a prime position to make noise and get hot late in the season.
Week 9 – Sun, Nov 2: 4:05 PM EST Jacksonville Jaguars
@ Las Vegas Raiders

After a week off the Jaguars head to Vegas, looking to build on their 4-3 record. The Raiders are a solid team who -like the Jaguars- underwent a pretty substantial overhaul this offseason. I believe the Jaguars are simply the better team, and the better team should go out and win this game. The Jaguars come out of the bye week fresh and cruise to a comfortable win on the road.
Prediction: Jaguars Win
Record: 5-3
Week 10 – Sun, Nov 9: 1:00 PM EST Jacksonville Jaguars
@ Houston Texans

The Jaguars took game 1 of the series but the Texans are a strong team who will make it hard to attain the series sweep. I think the Jaguars drop this one on the road, as the Texans avoid the sweep and get a big win at home over the Jaguars. The splitting of this series should keep the fight for the AFC South alive throughout the end of the season.
Prediction: Jaguars Loss
Record: 5-4
Week 11 – Sun, Nov 16: 1:00 PM EST Jacksonville Jaguars
vs Los Angeles Chargers

The Jaguars have another tough matchup on deck when they host the Chargers. The Chargers are another team who was in the playoffs last year. The Chargers seem to be looking to take the next step into being true contenders. The Jaguars will again keep it close, but I foresee them dropping this one as the Chargers ride the run game to victory in a hard fought game.
Prediction: Jaguars Loss
Record: 5-5
Week 12 – Sun, Nov 23: 4:05 PM EST Jacksonville Jaguars
@ Arizona Cardinals

After back-to-back losses, the Jaguars get back in the win column in a commanding way with a win in Arizona over the Cardinals. The Cardinals are a solid team, but the Jaguars high flying offense presents immense issues for this Cardinal defense. Trevor Lawrence along with his new cast of playmakers, lead the team to victory. The win brings the Jaguars back above .500.
Prediction: Jaguars Win
Record: 6-5
Week 13 – Sun, Nov 30: 1:00 PM EST Jacksonville Jaguars
@ Tennessee Titans

The Jaguars have a chance to string together some wins as they enter a seemingly more favorable part of the schedule. They push their win streak to 2 as they knock off the Titans in Nashville. The Titans are an up and coming team but are still early in the process of their rebuild. I think the Jaguars will take full advantage of this, and handle business on the road. I expect a dominant double digit win that further displays their new talents over the rest of the AFC South.
Prediction: Jaguars Win
Record: 7-5
Week 14 – Sun, Dec 7: 1:00 PM EST Jacksonville Jaguars
vs Indianapolis Colts

The Colts were big spenders in the offseason -something they have often not done under GM Chris Ballard. The Colts figure to be a competitive team, but the Jaguars have the Colts number when Indy travels to #Duuuval. The Jaguars have won the last 10 matchups at home and I believe they extend that streak to 11 after another win against Indy in front of the Jacksonville home crowd.
Prediction: Jaguars Win
Record: 8-5
Week 15 – Sun, Dec 14: 1:00 PM EST Jacksonville Jaguars
vs New York Jets

The Jets travel to Jacksonville where they knocked off the Jaguars last year. Both teams will look very different this time around, and I believe the outcome will be different as well. The Jets moves this offseason have positioned themselves along the line of rebuilding and retooling. I believe by this point of the year, that the pendulum will have swung more towards that rebuilding side. Ultimately, the Jaguars get the job done at home as they outclass a scrappy but less talented Jets team.
Prediction: Jaguars Win
Record: 9-5
Week 16 – Sun, Dec 21: 4:05 PM EST Jacksonville Jaguars
@ Denver Broncos

The Jaguars are riding hot off the heels of 4 straight wins. That streak will come to an end as the Broncos spoil Travis Hunter’s return to the state of Colorado. Hunter puts on a show, but the Broncos ultimately win a close one on their home turf. The Jaguars drop a tough one to a fellow AFC playoff team, and I predict this matchup will not be the only time these 2 teams face off this season.
Prediction: Jaguars Loss
Record: 9-6
Week 17 – Sun, Dec 28: 1:00 PM EST Jacksonville Jaguars
@ Indianapolis Colts

The Jaguars handed this Colts team a loss just 3 weeks ago. The Colts fight desperately to avoid the series sweep but ultimately, the incredible disparity in QB play leads to another Jaguars win. The Colts did a lot to upgrade their surrounding pieces but with major questions at QB, the Colts season could be trapped in mediocrity. The Jaguars get back in the win column after a tough loss in Denver. They will look to continue this momentum, heading into a hopeful playoff run.
Prediction: Jaguars Win
Record: 10-6
Week 18 – Sat, Jan 3: TBD Jacksonville Jaguars
vs Tennessee Titans

The Jaguars finish the season where it started, in #Duuuval! The Jaguars regular season success has put them in a position to, “control their own destiny” in this last week of the season. In a “Win and you’re in” situation, the Jaguars do just that, as they beat the Titans convincingly on their way to the AFC South crown.
Prediction: Jaguars Win
Record: 11-6
Regular Season Wrap-Up

The new-look Jaguars -under first time Head Coach Liam Coen and first time General Manager James Gladstone- make noise right away as they win the AFC South title and get the 4th seed in the AFC. The Jaguars are a team much closer to contention then many predict, and I believe they will prove that right away. Look for the Jaguars to be one of the biggest surprises of this upcoming season. The Jaguars will also garner more mainstream media attention than ever before, due to both the new found success, as well as the emergence of superstar 2-way player Travis Hunter. With a quickly retooled team and coaching staff, along with a favorable schedule and a major ascension of Quarterback Trevor Lawrence, I predict the Jaguars will end the 2025 season 11-6.
Playoff Overview and Conclusion

As was hinted in the Broncos matchup, I do believe the Jaguars will face off with the Broncos in the post-season. The Broncos go out and earn the 5th seed in the AFC, ultimately leading to a rematch between the Jaguars and Broncos in Jacksonville. I think the Jaguars avenge their regular season loss in front of the home crowd, helped by the performance of 2-way star -and former Colorado legend- Travis Hunter.
I think the Jaguars playoff run does end on the road in round 2, marking the end to an incredible season. Although I predict the season will end in a close playoff loss, this season would still be a massive success and a major step in the right direction for the organization.
The new regime immediately established what this new era of Jaguars football will look like. Liam Coen and the best supporting cast of the young QB’s career, unlock Trevor Lawrence’s potential leading to a top 10 season from the offense. Anthony Campanile leads the defense to a middle of the pack season, on the pillars of playing fundamentally sound, and energetic football. Off the heels of an 11 win season -that featured a playoff win-, the Jaguars could be primed to make a major ascension into true Super Bowl contention, with another strong offseason and continued development in the new systems.
That’s it for today, check back soon as there will be plenty of content coming throughout the off-season.
