Do’s and Do Not’s Fantasy Football Quarterbacks 2025

Whether you’re a hardcore fantasy football player, or a casual enjoyer. We all look for those cheat sheets, rankings, mock drafts. Anything to give yourself an edge against the competition. We’re taking a look at Quarterbacks. Who’s worthy of starting and sitting, which players should you avoid or maybe gamble on? Today we’re gonna compile a cheat sheet of sorts to help you craft the most dominate and reliable fantasy football team.

Starters: Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts, Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, Jayden Daniels, and Justin Herbert

Let’s start off with the elite talent at the quarterback position. Keeping consistent with last year the top 5 quarterbacks are pretty much set in stone. Those 5 are in no particular order, that debate is for another day. Herbert and Daniels I almost left out of the starters list but decided to add them because of their teams off season movement. There is an asterisk next to both of them given that Daniels was a rookie last year who blew everyone’s expectations out of the water. However he could be primed for a step back year where he isn’t quite as electric as he was in 2024. The Chargers have made some great moves in the offseason. Adding some depth to their Offensive Line, Running backs and Corners. Herbert is primed for a good year where he steps up into that definitive general role.

Bench: Matthew Stafford, Brock Purdy, Jordan Love, Jared Goff, CJ Stroud, Bo Nix, Dak Prescott

Every year there are injuries that rock the NFL world, that includes fantasy football. Of course you can’t predict injuries but it’s best to try to prepare, all of these quarterbacks are wonderful players to hold onto on your bench. Year after year all of these guys put up consistent numbers week to week. Bo Nix was almost not on this list but much like with Herbert the Broncos have done a great job building around Bo Nix this off season. Solid and reliable starters not quite round 1 or 2 picks but great reserve players for your roster.

Gamble: Caleb Williams, Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, Tua Tagovailoa, Trevor Lawrence, Bryce Young, Cam Ward, JJ McCarthy, Michael Penix Jr, Geno Smith, Sam Darnold

Most of the names in the Gamble list are far from true gambles and more fringe starters. Not quite elite enough to spend a round 1-2 pick on but can provide immense value in rounds 4-5. Some of the names such as Young, Ward, Penix, and McCarthy could emerge and prove to the world that they are here to stay. Potentially explosive, all of these players are on teams trying to build around them and add talent. If they can prove to be solid then you’ll be glad you drafted them.

Avoid: Aaron Rodgers, Justin Fields, Tyler Shough, Shaduer Sanders, Russel Wilson, Anthony Richardson

As for the players in avoid I have to say, this doesn’t mean never ever draft them it more so means these players are not in good situations or set up to succeed this year. Players like Wilson, Shough, Sanders, and Richardson could be sharing time with other quarterbacks if they are showing too many holes. Fields and Rodgers are almost bench players but not quite, they could be worth an extra spot in case of injury but both teams are not set up for successful winning seasons. Not to mention they would both be on new teams.
