The offseason has finally arrived, meaning there’s a lot to talk about regarding player trades and free-agent decisions. One notable hypothetical free-agent mock-trade that’s garnered a lot of momentum over the past few weeks is news about Maxx Crosby, the defensive end for the Los Vegas Raiders. Let’s take a closer look at why his name is being discussed so much as a potential mock-trade and what his trade could mean for a few potential, likely teams who would benefit from his amazing talent.

What’s With The Deal?

During the 2025 season, at age 28, Crosby managed to wrack up a pretty impressive array of sacks, landing a solid 14.5 for the season. However, faith in management has started eroding, as many talk of whispers of a rebuild, meaning that talk of Crosby featuring in mock trades due to his recovery from a wounded meniscus has grown as others might try to capitalize on his prime years of performance.

The Philadelphia Eagles could be dangling some pretty impressive trades in exchange for Crosby. There are talks of them possibly handing over a first-round pick as well as extra assets for Crosby, meaning that the Vegas Raiders would be able to rebuild based off of a fresh NFL draft, looking for new fresh talent to rebuild with. Eagles will be looking to terrorize Quarter Backs with Crosby’s impressive sack capabilities.

Patriots Reload On Defense

The Patriots managed to achieve a SuperBowl feature in their first year with new coach Mike Vrabel, however, that doesn’t mean there still isn’t work to be done. In this hypothetical, the Patriots would ship a first, second and defensive lineman, hoping that Crosby could help bolster their offense alongside dominant player Keion White. The idea is that Vegas would shed salary while gaining key building blocks for contention.

The Buffalo’s Boost Pass Rush

The Bills are looking to boost their pass rush quite desperately and would likely be able to offer two future firsts and a receiver to get a hold of Crosby. Their goal: that Josh Allen thrives alongside Crosby pressuring along with Greg Rousseau and help to build a sturdy offensive line that gives him the time and the gaps to make better choices, hopefully owning the AFC East. The Raiders would be able to turn one star into a draft war treasure chest.

Bears In Need of Firepower

The Chicago Bears are in desperate need of firepower to help boost Caleb Williams offensive game and opportunities and would probably be willing to trade a first choice, future first choice and a top wideout in order to get a hold of Crosby. The idea is that his powerful dynamic and keen eye for taking gaps would help by pairing with Montez Sweat in order to bolster their offensive capabilities and build a strong front.

Seahawks Eye Dynasty

The Seahawks would be interested in Crosby mainly for their ability to build a strong, dynastic team mixed in with as many key, star players as possible. There’s rumor that they could send high draft choices for the star edge player in order to help build a stronger, almost legendary roster. Because he’s fresh off a SuperBowl, they would pair him with Boye Mafe in order to build a solid line and lock things down. The Raiders would receive the top picks of great fresh talent in exchange for a star and be able to manage a solid, new rebuild.

49ers Patch The Rush

The 49ers rush has lost it’s element of fear-inspiring offensive tactics in recent years and would be looking at acquiring a dominant player like Crosby to help bolster their line desperately. The idea would be to pair Crosby alongside a player like Leonard Floyd in order to dramatically increase their line potential and build a stronger offense. Raiders would receive a first choice pick at premium future assets in exchange for a star.

Cowboys Chase Glory

While the Dallas Cowboys haven’t had a particularly bad season, they’re always hungry for the glory and would likely look into trading 2 first choices as well as lineman in order to get their hands on a player like Crosby and help bolster their line alongside a player like DeMarcus Lawrence in order to build a more solid, aggressive line and causing perpetual disruption. The Raiders would haul in their rivals elite trade returns for this deal.

Injury Recovery

While it is true that Crosby is still in the process of recovering from a serious meniscus injury, word is that he’s making a remarkable recovery and that this injury shouldn’t affect his game very much. In all likelihood, it wouldn’t have much of an affect on the performance of his mock trades or eventual actual trades, if they were to happen, based on his immense performance over the past year and his relatively young age still going in his favor.

Crosby’s Market Value

Crosby’s market value is set to be quite high based on the fact that his previous performance at the Raiders already raised it to a whopping $106 million+ status, meaning that he’s likely to haul in a pretty serious chest for his trade. He would easily be eyeing a $30 million+ AAV and his trade to either of these teams would seriously help their rebuild. Only time will tell who makes the most promising offer, but this young stars future still looks incredibly bright as things stand.
