Re-Grading the Tennessee Titans 2025 Draft

Re-Grading the Tennessee Titans 2025 Draft
Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward (1) looks for a receiver during the second quarter against the Houston Texans at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025.

The 2025 NFL draft was a high-stakes moment that the Tennessee Titans expected to use to build a new foundation for the Titans organization. Tennessee took advantage of the first overall pick in the draft to pick up what they hoped to be a franchise quarterback when they chose quarterback Cam Ward. In addition to selecting Ward, the Titans also needed to add players they could surround Ward with on offense and attempt to upgrade several defensive positions.

The Titans’ decision to draft Ward as their quarterback turned out to be a good one, and now they have a legitimate franchise quarterback to build their new offensive weapons around. Ultimately, even with a strong draft, the Titans struggled to win consistently, which led to the mid-season firing of head coach Brian Callahan. For the 2025 draft to be meaningful, the Titans will need to stack another good draft, deep in pass protectors and defensive players, to set up the Robert Saleh era for success.

While Cam Ward’s 33.1 quarterback rating in 2025 was a very low level of success for a franchise quarterback, Ward demonstrated he had the skills to elevate the Titans’ offense. A big part of Ward’s play during the 2025 season was his ability to make off-script plays by extending the play and giving his receiver a chance to get open. The biggest roadblock to Ward’s success was the Titans’ offensive line, which led to Ward being sacked 55 times during the 2025 season.

The biggest win for the Titans during the 2025 draft was the success of wide receivers Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor. Dike demonstrated the ability to be a legitimate deep threat for the Titans’ offense, helping stretch the field vertically for Ward. In contrast to Dike, Ayomanor established himself as an effective possession receiver with dependable hands and gave Ward a go-to intermediate threat to attack defenses regularly.

Tennessee Titans 2025 Draft Re-Grade = B+

The bottom line for the Tennessee Titans is that they did a good job of adding young talent to rebuild their skill positions on offense. However, for the Titans to take the next step, they need to use the 2026 NFL Draft to upgrade their offensive line and provide improved protection for Cam Ward. In addition, the Titans need to use this year’s draft to rebuild their defense and improve their performance on both sides of the ball.
