The NFL Draft is quickly approaching and in today’s article we are going to breakdown a Minnesota Vikings 7 round mock draft. We are going to be using PFF’s mock draft simulator and discussing the thought process for each and every selection. Through PFF’s drafts simulator – the Vikings currently have 4 picks. Their first round pick (pick 24), a 3rd round pick (pick 97), a pick from Cleveland in the 5th round (pick 140), and their own 5th round pick (pick 161). Four players will not complete a draft class – or at least a good one more often than not so in today’s article we are going to explore the possibility of what a 7 round mock draft would look like for the Minnesota Vikings. I hope you enjoy!
Round 1:
The Vikings have interest from the Baltimore Ravens who are currently selecting at pick 27. There are some very good prospects on the board like DT Walter Nolen, OL Armand Mambo, RB Omarion Hampton, and OL Grey Zabel to name a few. Because the Vikings do not have a lot of draft capital at the moment – I am a huge proponent of trading back. We trade back with the Ravens as we send picks 24, and 161 and in return receive picks 27, 91, 128, and 213 to receive some much needed draft capital while also acquiring another top 100 pick. Picks 24 – 26 were Emeka Egbuka to Baltimore, Armand Membou to the Texans at 25, and Walter Nolen to the Rams at pick 26. With the interior OL being a need – I am a big fan of drafting Grey Zabel here at pick 27 and moving onto day 2. There would be hope the Vikings also sign Guard Trey Smith in free agency and significantly improve the interior offensive line before JJ McCarthy takes the field. The Vikings draft North Dakota State OL Grey Zabel with the 27th overall pick.

Round 3:
Minnesota is back on the clock at pick 91 and South Carolina safety Nick Emmanwori is staring them right in the face. I like Emmanwori’s game a lot and I think this is the definition of drafting a good football player and not over thinking it. He is a top 50 player to me personally and I understand he is probably not a direct scheme fit for Brian Flores – but the traits, the size, and the ball production are all too good to pass up. Emmanwori had an opposing passer rating of just 37.1 when targeted in 2024 (Per PFF) and he is their second pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Minnesota also has pick 97 and they are using this on Kansas CB Cobee Bryant. Bryant is 6’1 175 and will provide depth and a cheap contract for the next few years for a team that desperately needs corner help. I am a fan of the belief of you can never have too much pass rush or secondary help – and the Vikings certainly need corners. They need a youth movement and this factors directly into that.
Round 4:
Damien Martinez the RB from Miami is on the board and this is who Minnesota is going with at pick 128. Martinez is a bigger back and in his final year with the Hurricanes had over 800 rushing yards and 9 rushing touchdowns. He also forced 34 missed tackles in 2024 and this was after a year in 2023 in which he forced 57 missed tackles during his time with Oregon State. He will be a 21 year old rookie and I love drafting a big back that helps increase the talent of the position the roster – while also trying to be able to set the tone physically. I think the Vikings will also look to bring in a RB in free agency and have a duo of a rookie RB and a veteran in 2025.
Round 5:
The Vikings are back on the clock at pick 140 and I think they could use a big bodied receiver to play more of a power slot role in 2025 and Pat Bryant from Illinois fits the bill. He’s 6’3 and weighs 200 and finished his collegiate career with a 54-984-10 stat line in 2024 and does a really good job of tracking the deep ball and is surprisingly a good route runner for his size. He can run intermediate routes, he can win contested catches, and he can be the big bodied guy to go to in the red zone or on third down at a critical moment in the game. The best part for Bryant is – he would be in an offense with both Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison and would never (well almost never) be the guy for defenses to focus in on when it matters most. He would thrive in Minnesota and he would receive a lot of one on one opportunities. The value at 140 is too good to pass up
Round 6:
Pick 213 is the Vikings final selection in the draft and they are using it on Texas Center Jake Majors. Obviously with this pick you’re hoping for a guy who can be a rotational offensive lineman and a guy who can be a spot start player if need be and if he does not make the roster – it’s not the end of the world. This is a player you are expecting the worst (cut after the pre season) and hoping for the best (a player who plays out his rookie contract) but are not upset one way or the other.
I hope you enjoyed today’s article and hope the Vikings address the trenches in a big way in the 2025 offseason. SKOL
