AFC South – Post-Draft Standing Prediction

The off-season is officially here, and now we can start to look into every division and see where I think they stand coming up after the NFL draft. Let’s start with my team’s division, the AFC South.

4. Tennessee Titans

For the 2025 season, it’s safe to say the Titans are the front-runner to be the bottom-feeders. After finishing with a 3 – 14 record last year and selecting Cam Ward in this season’s draft, the Titans are in a full rebuild (as they have been for the past several years).

The most I can give them is their defense is looking to be pretty underrated, and they have the pieces to give Cam Ward a season that brings the franchise some hope. I don’t expect them to improve much at all next season, but they won’t have the first overall pick.

Expecting around four to six wins for Tennessee.

3. Indianapolis Colts

While I think the Colts had one of the better drafts this year, I don’t think they’ll be moving out of the bottom half of the AFC this year.

With the shaky QB situation, a defense that didn’t make a ton of improvements (especially in the secondary), and an offense that needs to prove some things, there are a lot of “maybes” that the Colts have to overcome before I can see them taking the next step this year.

Maybe if Richardson plays to his potential, JT has a season that we haven’t seen from him in years, and the secondary makes a big jump, then we can expect the Colts to get up. However, as it stands, I think there are too many uncertainties for me to feel comfortable with the Colts.

Expecting around six to nine wins for Indy.

2. Jacksonville Jaguars

While Jacksonville had one of the weirdest seasons I’ve seen in awhile, I (perhaps unpopularly) think they have the pieces to make a bit of a comeback season. I do think the Travis Hunter selection was absolutely best case scenario for them, and I think he’ll add an energy to the team that we haven’t seen from Jacksonville since Trevor Lawrence’s selection.

Speaking of which, Trevor is due for an uptick from last season. The trench play was abysmal last season, making Trevor have to rely on Brian Thomas’ above average playmaking. With this season, Jacksonville picked up two more linemen in he draft and a few in free agency, addressing a big need.

The Jacksonville offense is looking to be exciting, and I expect them to have around eight to ten wins.

1. Houston Texans

I don’t think it’s an unpopular opinion to call the Texans the most talented roster in the AFC South, so this ranking should really be no surprise.

While, unfortunately, they will probably be taking a bit of a step down due to the unfortunate news coming out of the WR room, but I still expect them to finish with an AFC South title. Texans biggest problem was OL play, which they too have been addressing.

If they can get the line to click, then we can expect to see C.J. Stroud have yet another fantastic season.

I’m expecting around eleven to thirteen wins for the Texans.
