During the 2025 season, the Las Vegas Raiders finally hit rock bottom after several years adrift in mediocrity. The gamble to hire Pete Carroll as head coach, pair him with Chip Kelly as offensive coordinator, and trust Geno Smith under center looked promising on paper but fell flat on the gridiron. Still, it could be argued that 2025 was a transitional campaign for a franchise gearing up to sweep the slate clean and embark on a bold new chapter.

While the Las Vegas Raiders’ 2025 draft picks were not enough to lift the team beyond a 3-14 season, there were some solid selections that will form the foundation for the future. The biggest addition was first-round pick running back Ashton Jeanty, who ran for 975 yards, produced 1,321 total yards, and scored 7 touchdowns. With Jeanty in the backfield, Las Vegas now has a workhorse to build around during the Klint Kubiak era.

In the second round, the Raiders selected wide receiver Jack Bech to be a young weapon for Geno Smith to target, but Bech had a rough start to the season. However, Bech began to show glimpses of his potential late in the season, finishing with 20 receptions for 224 yards. In the third round, Las Vegas selected a pair of offensive linemen, but neither Caleb Rogers nor Charles Grant demonstrated the ability to be starters in 2025, and both are considered to be project players.

On the defensive side of the ball, third-round pick cornerback Darien Porter primarily contributed on special teams, although he did perform well against vertical routes. On Day 3 of the 2025 draft, the Raiders did find a pair of contributors on their defensive line with Tonka Hemingway and J.J. Pegues contributing on the interior of the Raiders’ defensive line. Both linemen played with high motor, which gave the defensive line a boost.

Las Vegas Raiders 2025 Draft Re-Grade = B-

The biggest addition to the Raiders roster from the 2025 draft was first-round pick Ashton Jeanty. This offseason, the Raiders have a glaring need at quarterback after moving on from Geno Smith. However, no matter what the Raiders do at the skills during the 2026 draft, they will need to invest in upgrading their offensive line and their defense. Adding Klint Kubiak as the head coach in Las Vegas could bring youthful energy to the coaching staff, which lacked it in 2025 because many of those coaches were on the back end of their careers.
