On Sunday Night Football during Week 12 of the 2025 season, the Los Angeles Rams worked to remove all doubt that they are the best in the NFL. That message came in the form of a 34-7 beatdown of the NFC South-leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Sunday’s blowout victory was the Rams’ sixth straight win of the 2025 season.
The Rams offense is led by quarterback Matthew Stafford, who has been playing at an MVP-level this season. Where Stafford has excelled is in his efficiency, including 30 touchdown passes and only 2 interceptions. Offensively, the Rams are scoring 29.5 points/game while producing 358.4 yards/game. In addition to their offensive production, the Rams’ turnover-free play has allowed them to move into elite status this season.
Defensively, the Rams have matched the efforts of their offense. Currently, the Rams are the NFL’s top defense, allowing only 16.3 points/game this season. In addition, the Rams have the 2nd-best defense in the NFL at forcing turnovers, and they rank in the top 3 at stopping opponents in the red zone.
The outstanding combination of elite play by the Rams’ offense and defense has resulted in a +127 point differential, the best in the NFL in 2025. If the Rams can continue to excel on offense and defense, they will most likely be the leading contender to win the Super Bowl this season. However, the Rams must continue to prove themselves as a top team for each of the remaining weeks of the 2025 regular season.
