The NFL’s Top Five Receiver Duos

In today’s NFL—where the passing game has reigned supreme for over a decade—teams need more than just a reliable quarterback to move the ball. A dominant wide receiver can take over a game at any time but defenses will adjust to focus their schemes around stopping them. That task becomes much tougher when an offense features two star receivers. Dynamic receiver tandems have long been the backbone of some of the league’s most efficient offenses. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the top five duos heading into the 2025 season!

The reigning NFL champions, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, bring steady production and chemistry to an Eagles offense that leaned heavily on the run in 2024. While neither player put up eye-popping numbers, the duo still combined for a total of 1,912 receiving yards. Brown hauled in 1,079 yards and 7 scores alongside Smith’s 833 yards and 8 touchdowns. With Philadelphia’s offensive core largely intact, the question heading into 2025 is whether the passing game will take on a bigger role or if the offense will continue to rest on Saquon’s shoulders. Either way, Brown and Smith remain a reliable, explosive tandem in one of the league’s most well rounded offenses.

Although the Los Angeles Rams lost former triple crown winner Cooper Kupp this offseason, they filled that void with three-time First-Team All-Pro Davante Adams. He’ll line up alongside third-year standout, Puka Nacua, who burst onto the scene with 1,486 yards and 6 touchdowns as a rookie. Despite only playing 11 games in 2024 due to injury, Nacua still managed to put up 79 receptions for 990 yards and 3 touchdowns, showing his consistency. Adams, who split time between the Raiders and Jets in 2024, also only played in 11 games but proved he’s still elite via his 854 yards and 7 scores. With both receivers healthy and in a Sean McVay-led offense, the Rams’ new duo is set to make their mark.

The Detroit Lions boast arguably a top three offense in the league, if not number one. While the impact of Ben Johnson’s departure remains to be seen, the talent on the roster is undeniable. To find this, look no further than Amon-Ra St. Brown, who has been remarkably consistent. Only once has St. Brown had less than 1,000 yards in a season. Over the last two seasons alone, Amon-Ra has stacked up 2,778 yards and 22 touchdowns. Add to that Jameson Williams, who finally found his rhythm in 2024 with 1,001 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns, and this receiving duo looks like a nightmare for opposing defenses. Expect the Lions’ wideouts to continue building on this impressive production in 2025.

2. Justin Jefferson & Jordan Addison

When you have Justin Jefferson, your receiving corps is already in elite territory. Pair him with Jordan Addison and you have one of the most dangerous duos in the league. Jefferson has been record breaking with his productivity, averaging 15 yards per reception through his career thus far with 40 total touchdowns as well. It’s no surprise he draws double teams and special defensive attention every week. Addison may not have hit the 1,000 yard season milestone yet, but he has scored an impressive 20 touchdowns through his first two years. This Vikings duo is set to have potentially their best season together yet.

The highest paid receiver tandem in the NFL—and for good reason. Both Chase and Higgins secured massive contract extensions this offseason: Chase became the highest paid receiver in league history with a 5-year, $161 million deal, while Higgins signed a 4-year, $115 million contract, making him the ninth highest-paid player at the position. While the Bengals paid a premium to keep them together, it’s easy to see why. Chase just had an outstanding season, leading all receivers in receptions, yards and touchdowns. Meanwhile, Higgins put up a respectable 911 yards and 10 touchdowns in only 12 games. If Higgins can stay healthy this year, the Bengals receiver tandem looks to be a major headache for any team in their path.
