To draft or not to draft, one of the most exciting parts about a new NFL season is being able to draft a fantasy team to follow through the season. The format for this is similar to our quarterbacks Do’s and Do Not’s. We will start with the elite receivers the ones always worth a round 1 pick. Then well move onto the players that you can gamble on. We will cover the receivers worth a bench spot and who to avoid all together. All the planning you could need to craft the perfect fantasy team.
Starters (Round 1 or 2)
Starters: Ja’marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Amon Ra- St. Brown, CeeDee Lamb, Puka Nacua, AJ Brown, Malik Nabers, Brian Thomas Jr, Tyreek Hill
First up is the best of the best. These players are proven to be elite talent at the receiver position, no matter the quarterback, no matter the playbook they will dominate. Barring injury these players are always worth a round 1-2 pick. Nabers and Thomas Jr are new additions to this list so be wary picking them but both of them proved to be powerhouses in fantasy despite their respective situations. All of the other names are on solid teams with good quarterback situations no concerns besides injury.

Gamble (Rounds 4-6)
Gamble: George Pickens, Tetairoa McMillian, Cooper Kupp, Jerry Jeudy, Jaylen Waddle, DK Metcalf, Stefon Diggs
Onto the gamble category. Whether they’re on new teams or have some iffy quarterback situations, these players are solid picks to roll the dice on. They have high upside and can be a reliable flex at worst. Being honest most of these players are fringe elite talents but what holds them back is usually other factors. coaching, play calling, attitude, or simply being on a brand new team in cases like Metcalf, Pickens, and Kupp. Tetairoa McMillian is a true gamble because he may need some time to grow or he may just hit the ground running

Bench (Rounds 3-4)
Bench: Nico Collins, Tee Higgins, Drake London, Mike Evans, Terry Mclaurin, Devonta Smith, Courtland Sutton, Zay Flowers, DJ Moore, Davante Adams, Jayden Reed
When you look up reliable in the dictionary these names pop up. Of course I’m kidding but these players are just that, reliable. You won’t be doomed if these are your only receivers but there are a few more downsides with these receivers as opposed to the Elite ones. For some of them it’s age, others it’s consistency. Regardless of consistency it’s worth having at least one of these names in your roster. However all of them are have a reliable quarterback throwing them the ball.

Avoid (Round 7+)
Avoid: Calvin Ridley, Rashee Rice, Garret Wilson, Chris Olave, Micheal Pittman Jr, Josh Downs
Avoid these players like the plague this season. Sadly in cases for Olave and Wilson they have extremely shaky quarterback situations. It’s going to be hard to predict their production week to week. Ridley does have Cam Ward this year and though I expect him to do well I don’t think Ridley will produce reliable fantasy numbers so I would avoid him. In the cases of Pittman and Downs both of them are truly boom or bust players. Only a touchdown away from having a “good” week. Rashee Rice is up here because he’s in the middle of a legal dispute that could see him spend some time behind bars. To be safe I would just avoid him all together.
