The Rams made a huge trade with the Falcons last night to drop out of the first round. They now hold the 46th overall pick in the second round, as well as pick 90 in the third round. Here are a few potential draft prospects that could fit well with the Rams tonight.
#1. Mason Taylor, TE LSU

Mason Taylor comes from a family of footballers, including his Hall of Fame father Jason Taylor. He’s a very athletic pass-catcher with great hands. He has a huge route tree and can definitely get open and beat linebackers. He needs work as a blocker and can also be a bit predictable on the break at times. But under McVay he’d be a great tool and could likely learn from Tyler Higbee and the Rams staff and be a contributor to the Rams offense.
#2. Will Johnson, CB Michigan

Johnson fell out of the first round due to concerns about his knee injury. But if the medicals check out, he will be a day 1 contributor at corner. He’s big and strong but moves fluidly. He can recognize and diagnose plays before the snap. The tape is certainly there, assuming his knee heals well. If he continues to fall all the way to 46, the Rams could get great value taking a flier on him.
#3. Shavon Revel, CB East Carolina

Revel is probably the best corner available when factoring in injury history. He’s coming off an ACL tear, but it was less severe than what Johnson suffered. He tracks to be ready for training camp. Revel is super big and athletic and tests extremely well. He’s strong and fast, can cover large areas of the field, and isn’t afraid to make big tackles in the run game. There are no sure things at corner in this years draft, but if Revel can stay healthy he has huge potential for the Ram’s secondary.
#4. Carson Schwesinger, LB UCLA

Schwesinger is the best LB available in this class and would be a great fit for the Ram’s needs. He speedily avoids blocks to cover gaps, has great football IQ to spot rush lanes, and tackles hard. He also has the speed and flexibility to cover zones. Not only that, but he excels in special teams play so he would have no problems contributing to the the Rams in multiple ways. He’d be a slam dunk pick at #46 overall and a guy the Rams would love to have.
#5. Jaylin Noel, WR Iowa State

After saying goodbye to Cooper Kupp in the offseason, the Rams could stand to reload at receiver. Jaylin Noel would be the perfect complement to Puka Nacua. He ran a 4.39 and has the ability to take the top off the defense. He’s a YAC threat with incredible quickness to get open and make guys miss. He also has special teams upside, having returned punts and kicks at Iowa State. He’d be an incredible new tool for Matt Stafford if the Rams can grab him tonight at #46.
