As NFL teams hold mandatory minicamps and prepare for training camp in mid-July, it is essential for fantasy football owners to begin analyzing the key players at each position. The quarterback position can be considered one of the most important players on each NFL roster, but understanding the value of each NFL quarterback for fantasy football requires considering many factors. For this list of 2025 fantasy football quarterback rankings, we are using a standard draft format lens and evaluating the productivity each quarterback will bring to fantasy owners. Some factors to consider are the efficiency of each quarterback, their ability to capitalize on out-of-position points, and the weapons available to them on their respective NFL teams. A model of an effective fantasy quarterback combines the quarterback’s availability, how well he utilizes his offensive weapons and his intangibles.
QB 1: Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen brings an ultimate mix of strengths to fantasy football. Allen’s ability to effectively deliver the ball to his offensive weapons, along with his ability to run the ball, makes Allen a point-producing machine for fantasy football owners. The total points projection for Allen is approximately 370 points, with the expectation that he will throw nearly 500 passes for roughly 3,700 passing yards with 29 passing touchdowns. Allen does tend to throw interceptions, but with another season of development, most projections have Allen throwing eight or fewer interceptions during the 2025 season. In addition to his passing numbers, Allen will likely run the ball 110 times for 560 rushing yards and score 10 rushing touchdowns. It is worth noting that Allen has a favorable schedule, including a Week 7 BYE week.
QB 2: Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens

SStatistically, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will likely outproduce Allen during the 2025 season, but Jackson faces a more difficult schedule than Allen and the Bills. Despite the challenging schedule, projections indicate that Jackson will produce approximately 375 fantasy points, with an estimated 440 pass attempts for 3,800 passing yards, including 37 touchdown passes and only seven interceptions. Jackson also brings a dual-threat element to his game and projects to run the ball roughly 140 times for nearly 900 rushing yards, along with scoring four rushing touchdowns. The BYE week for Jackson and the Ravens is Week 7 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 3: Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is likely to have a big season for fantasy football owners after a successful 2024 rookie season. Daniels will face a schedule that ranks in the bottom third of the NFL, and he plays in an offense that emphasizes an efficient passing game. Those factors combine to project 355 total points for Daniels in 2025 while throwing the ball approximately 516 times for 3,800 yards and 26 passing touchdowns against 11 interceptions. In addition to his passing numbers, Daniels projects to run the ball approximately 140 times for 770 rushing yards and scoring six rushing touchdowns. The Commanders have a Week 12 BYE week during the 2025 NFL season.
QB 4: Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts aims to build on a successful 2024 season with another stellar performance in 2025. Hurts is projected to produce 355 total fantasy points while throwing 425 passes for an estimated 3,300 passing yards and 24 passing touchdowns with only nine interceptions. Hurts will also be a dual-threat player once again, running the ball an estimated 150 times for 700 rushing yards and scoring 12 rushing touchdowns. The Eagles’ strength of schedule ranks in the middle third of all NFL teams, and Philadelphia has a bye week during Week 9 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 5: Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals

Joe Burrow expects to have one of the highest volumes of pass attempts during the 2025 season due to the pass-heavy approach to offense by head coach Zac Taylor. Projections indicate that Burrow projects to throw the ball approximately 600 times in 2025, resulting in 4,500 passing yards and 35 passing touchdowns, with only 10 interceptions. Burrow is not generally a dual-threat quarterback, but due to the Cincinnati Bengals pass protection issues, Burrow will need to be able to run the ball occasionally. The Bengal’s pass protection problems will lead to Burrow running the ball an estimated 50 times for 190 rushing yards and scoring three rushing touchdowns. The Bengals will have their BYE week during Week 10 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 6: Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Baker Mayfield has found a stable home, leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ offense. During the 2025 season, Mayfield should be able to produce roughly 310 total fantasy points, with 520 pass attempts for 400 passing yards and 32 passing touchdowns, accompanied by a downside of 15 interceptions. Mayfield will run the ball approximately 60 times during the season for 300 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. The Buccaneers play one of the weakest schedules in the NFL, belonging to the NFC South division, and Tampa Bay has a bye week during Week 9 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 7: Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has established himself as one of the top quarterbacks of all time. In the world of fantasy football, Mahome’s performances have not always translated into top performances for fantasy owners, but he is consistent, which is essential for any fantasy team. In 2025, Mahomes should produce an estimated 315 total fantasy points while throwing the ball 570 times for 4,100 yards and 29 passing touchdowns against 12 interceptions. Mahomes also throws the ball well out of the pocket, which can lead to scramble situations. As a result, Mahomes runs the ball an estimated 70 times for 340 rushing yards and scores three rushing touchdowns. The Chiefs will face a challenging schedule in the middle third of the NFL in terms of strength of schedule, and Kansas City will have a BYE week during Week 10 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 8: Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray has had his share of challenges during his NFL career. Along the way, Murray has developed into an effective quarterback for the Cardinals, and with a relatively weak schedule, Arizona expects to have a big breakout season in 2025. Murray projects to produce 310 total fantasy points with 510 pass attempts for 3,700 passing yards and 24 passing touchdowns against 10 interceptions. In addition to his passing performance, Murray should run the ball an estimated 80 times for 560 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns. The Cardinals will have their BYE week during Week 8 of the 2025 NFL Season.
QB 9: Bo Nix, Denver Broncos

During the 2024 NFL season, Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix had a surprisingly good performance during his rookie season. In 2025, Nix will have a better handle on Sean Payton’s complex offense, and that should allow Nix to continue to climb up the quarterback rankings. Nix expects to post approximately 295 total fantasy points while throwing 520 pass attempts for 3,500 passing yards and 26 passing touchdowns with only 11 interceptions. In addition to his passing performance, Nix will run the ball approximately 80 times for 410 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns. The Broncos will face one of the easiest schedules in the NFL, and Denver will have a BYE week during Week 12 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 10: Jared Goff, Detroit Lions

There is no doubt that Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff is quietly building an outstanding NFL career, including a Super Bowl appearance with the Los Angeles Rams. To go along with his on-field success, Goff has also been a consistent performer in fantasy football. Projections show that Goff should put up approximately 275 total fantasy points with 510 passing attempts for 4,100 passing yards and 29 passing touchdowns, along with 11 interceptions. Goff does not tend to be a dual-threat quarterback, but he should scramble roughly 30 times for 60 rushing yards. Detroit will face a challenging schedule, including a problematic set of games against the improving teams of the NFC North. The Lions’ BYE week will be during Week 8 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 11: Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers

During his NFL career, Justin Herbert has consistently carried high expectations, and during the regular season, he has shown the potential to shine. Herbert should produce an estimated 270 total fantasy points with 510 pass attempts for 3,769 passing yards and 24 passing touchdowns with nine interceptions. Out of necessity, Herbert will run the ball approximately 60 times for 252 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. The Chargers have a favorable schedule in 2025, and their Bye Week will be during Week 12 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 12: Justin Fields, New York Jets

Justin Fields has had an interesting series of experiences during the first few seasons of his short NFL career so far. This year, he will be the starting quarterback for the New York Jets, his third team in three years. While Fields has not consistently exemplified outstanding quarterback play, he can compensate for his lack of production in the passing game with his running ability. Expectations for Fields results in a projection of 290 total fantasy points with 480 pass attempts for 3,100 yards, along with 19 passing touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Fields should have plenty of opportunities to run the ball an estimated 120 times for 680 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns. On the plus side, the New York Jets will have one of the easiest schedules in the NFL, and their bye week is in Week 9 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 13: Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears

One of the most controversial rookie quarterbacks in recent years is Caleb Williams for the Chicago Bears. Williams has struggled with his transition to the NFL, leading to a new head coach, a new offensive system, and a rebuilt offensive line. In Chicago, there are high expectations for Williams, but he has not consistently shown the ability to be a great NFL quarterback. In fantasy football, Williams should produce a serviceable 275 total fantasy points with 530 pass attempts for 3,600 yards and 23 passing touchdowns, along with 10 interceptions. It is also likely that Williams will have to run the ball, whether he wants to or not, and he will need to run it approximately 80 times for 500 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. Williams will benefit from the Bears having a relatively weak schedule, and Chicago’s BYE week will be in Week 5.
QB 14: Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has outperformed expectations for players selected with the last pick in the NFL draft. Projections of Purdy’s play in 2025 result in an estimated 305 total fantasy points with 500 pass attempts for 4,300 passing yards with 25 passing yards. The downside of Purdy’s play is his relatively high number of interceptions, estimated to be 13 this season. In addition to passing the ball, Purdy will also need to scramble at times for roughly 60 carries for 260 yards and four rushing touchdowns. Due to the 49ers struggles last season, San Francisco will have a relatively easy schedule with a BYE week in Week 14 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 15: Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love has done a solid job of filling the shoes of former Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The Packers have consistently been in the running for the playoffs, and two years ago, they blew out the Dallas Cowboys in the post-season. This season, projections show that Love should produce approximately 265 total fantasy points while throwing 480 passes for 3,800 passing yards and 27 passing touchdowns with 12 interceptions. Love will also run the ball roughly 40 times for 140 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. The Packers’ lack of success in 2024 gives them the benefit of a more manageable schedule, and Green Bay’s bye week is in Week 5 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 16: Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys

Few current NFL quarterbacks have had as wild of a topsy-turvy career as Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. Prescott has demonstrated the ability to be a top passer in the NFL, but he has struggled with injuries, and he has continued the Cowboys’ tradition of postseason failures. During the 2025 season, estimates for Prescott are a yield of 290 total fantasy points, accompanied by 585 pass attempts, 4,150 passing yards, and 27 passing touchdowns, along with 12 interceptions. It is Prescott’s nature to be a pocket passer, but he still runs the ball approximately 40 times for 200 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. The Cowboys have a relatively easy schedule after last season’s lack of success, and Dallas has a BYE week during Week 10 of the NFL season.
QB 17: CJ Stroud, Houston Texans

Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud has stepped into a successful leadership role for the Texans offense. Pass protection should be better for Stroud during the 2025 NFL season, and that should allow Stroud to have an outstanding season. That success equates to above-average fantasy football production, and estimations suggest that Stroud should finish with 260 total fantasy points, resulting from 522 pass attempts, 3,900 passing yards, 23 passing touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. Stroud will also run the ball approximately 50 times for 240 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. Houston will have a moderately complex schedule, but they benefit from playing in the AFC South, and the Texans BYE week is in Week 6 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 18: Drake Maye, New England Patriots

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is another example of an effective 2024 rookie quarterback who has outperformed expectations so far. Maye should have a better group of weapons on the offensive side of the ball. During the 2025 season, projections indicate that Maye will produce 260 total fantasy points, completing 495 pass attempts for 3,300 passing yards, along with 21 passing touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Maye will also need to scramble approximately 80 times this season for 540 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. The Patriots will have the most manageable schedule in the NFL, and New England has a BYE week in Week 14 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 19: Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence has not lived up to the early success he experienced in his NFL career. Lawrence turned a playoff run into a massive contract extension and has since struggled. In 2025, the Jaguars will have new leadership at the head coach position, and expectations are that Lawrence will have a better season. Those projections result in an estimated 270 total fantasy points for Lawrence with 530 pass attempts for 3,800 passing yards, along with 22 passing touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Lawrence will also need to run the ball an estimated 50 times for 250 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns. The Jaguars will have a moderately challenging schedule in 2025, and they will have a bye week during Week 8 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 20: Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is another quarterback that has received a reward of a contract extension and a boost in pay. In fantasy football Stafford has consistently produced every season, but has rarely been an elite fantasy quarterback. This season, Stafford will continue to be an adequate quarterback with an estimated 265 fantasy points with 542 pass attempts for 4,100 passing yards along with 27 passing touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Stafford will post modest rushing performance with 30 rushing attempts for 50 yards. The Rams play a moderately strong schedule in 2025, and they have a BYE week in Week 8 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 21: Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has struggled to consistently achieve at the level expected when the Dolphins “tanked for Tua” before drafting Tagovailoa. Tagovailoa’s struggles are a result of inconsistent pass protection, and when these protection issues do not take center stage, Tagovailoa allows the Dolphins to have an elite offense. Based on Tagovailoa’s history, he projects to produce 260 total fantasy points with 560 pass attempts for 4,100 passing yards, along with 26 passing touchdowns and 11 interceptions. In addition, Tagovailoa will scramble an estimated 30 times for 90 rushing yards. The Dolphins have the advantage of a weak schedule in 2025 and a BYE week during Week 12 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 22: JJ McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota Vikings quarterback JJ McCarthy enters the 2025 season as an unknown factor in the Vikings’ offense. McCarthy injured his knee in the pre-season in 2024, allowing Sam Darnold to have an outstanding season until the post-season. The Vikings are betting on McCarthy being more successful than Darnold, but that is a reflection of the Viking’s arsenal of offensive playmakers. During his first season, projections show that McCarthy will produce an estimated 265 total fantasy points with 512 pass attempts for 3,800 passing yards, along with 26 passing touchdowns and 16 interceptions. McCarthy will also likely scramble approximately 50 times for 240 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. The Vikings will have a demanding schedule in 2025, and Minnesota has a BYE week during Week 6 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 23: Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young seemed to be on the verge of having a breakout season in 2024. That makes this 2025 season a prove-it year, one that will require Young to step up and lead the Panthers’ offense competently. Inconsistency has defined Young’s performance so far in his NFL career, leading to a modest estimate of 240 total fantasy points for the 2025 NFL season, with 520 pass attempts, 3,300 passing yards, and 21 passing touchdowns, along with 13 interceptions. In addition to Young’s passing production, he will approximately run the ball 50 times for 280 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. The Panthers have a moderately challenging schedule, considering they play in the NFC South, and Carolina’s bye week will be in Week 14 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 24: Michael Penix Jr., Atlanta Falcons

During the 2024 NFL season, the Atlanta Falcons’ quarterback situation was unclear, with Kirk Cousins serving as the starting quarterback for the Falcons. When it became evident that the Falcons would not make the playoffs, Michael Penix Jr. stepped into a leadership role for the Falcons’ offense. In 2025, expectations are for Penix Jr. to produce approximately 250 total fantasy points with 510 pass attempts for 3,800 passing yards, along with 22 passing touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Along with his passing numbers, Penix Jr. will run the ball approximately 50 times for 190 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. The Falcons will benefit from a weaker schedule in 2025, and Atlanta will have their BYE week during Week 5 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 25: Geno Smith, Las Vegas Raiders

Few quarterbacks have truly gone from being a disgraced NFL quarterback to becoming one of the top comeback players in the NFL. In 2025, Smith reunites with head coach Pete Carroll and expects to continue his success with the Las Vegas Raiders. Expectations are for Smith to produce approximately 260 total fantasy points with 3,900 passing yards, along with 21 passing touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Smith also expects to run the ball an estimated 50 times for 250 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. The Raiders play in a challenging division in the AFC West, and the Las Vegas BYE week will be in Week 8 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 26: Anthony Richardson, Indianapolis Colts

TThe Indianapolis Colts quarterback situation is one of the most complicated in the NFL heading into the 2025 NFL season. Richardson finds himself competing with Daniel Jones for the starting quarterback position, and he will not get a chance to prove himself until training camp due to a shoulder injury. While it is difficult to say whether Richardson will be the starting quarterback in 2025, Richardson has a ceiling of 220 total fantasy points, achieved with only 340 passes for 2,369 passing yards and 14 touchdowns, along with 12 interceptions. Richardson’s advantage is his running ability, and estimates suggest that he will carry the ball approximately 120 times for 580 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns. The Colts have a moderately complex schedule that could become more challenging with injuries to their roster, and their BYE week is in Week 11 during the 2025 NFL season.
QB 27: Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks

During the 2024 season, Sam Darnold had an impressive regular season for the Minnesota Vikings. Unfortunately, during the last week of the season and in the post-season, Darnold struggled to overcome his past demons. The Seahawks have recently stated that they are committed to Darnold as their starting quarterback in 2025. Expectations are that Darnold will produce approximately 240 total fantasy points while throwing the ball 520 times for 3,800 passing yards with 21 passing touchdowns, along with 15 interceptions. Darnold will only run the ball when forced to do so, and expectations are that he will run the ball an estimated 50 times for 180 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. The Seahawks will have a relatively easy schedule, and Seattle’s bye week is in Week 8 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 28: Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans

A new era began for the Tennessee Titans after they selected quarterback Cam Ward as the first pick in the 2025 draft. Ward will have a challenging season to start his NFL career as he learns a new playbook and leads an offense with questionable talent at the offensive line and wide receiver positions. Projections for Ward’s first season in the NFL are 230 total fantasy points with 500 pass attempts for 3,400 passing yards, along with 21 passing touchdowns and 14 interceptions. In addition to his potential as a passer, Ward can run and will run approximately 60 times this season for 260 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. The Titans face a challenging schedule in 2025, and Tennessee has a bye week during Week 10 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 29: Russell Wilson, New York Giants

Russell Wilson has not been the same quarterback since he left the Seattle Seahawks. Last year in Pittsburgh, Wilson struggled to find consistency, leading to the Steelers moving on and Wilson subsequently taking over as the lead of the New York Giants’ offense. The Giants have a loaded quarterback room with Jameis Winston, Tommy Devito, and Jaxson Dart. Wilson will have a ceiling of 180 total fantasy points with 390 pass attempts for 2,600 passing yards, along with 14 passing touchdowns and eight interceptions. Wilson will also scramble when necessary and will run the ball an estimated 50 times for 180 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. New York will have a manageable schedule in 2025, and the Giants’ BYE week will occur during Week 14 of the 2025 NFL season.
QB 30: Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh Steelers

Last week, Rodgers signed a one-year contract with Pittsburgh and started working with his teammates this week. It is questionable how much Rodgers has left in his tank, and he has not had a chance to develop chemistry with his receivers in Pittsburgh. Those factors result in a projection of 200 total fantasy points for Rodgers with 500 pass attempts for 3,500 passing yards, along with 17 passing touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Rodgers is not in a position to be a dual-threat quarterback, but he will need to be able to scramble occasionally. Expectations are that Rodgers will need to run the ball an estimated 30 times for 100 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. The Steelers will face a moderately complex schedule against several notable pass rushers in the AFC North, and Pittsburgh will have a BYE week during Week 5 of the 2025 NFL season.
